Media Law

Link: http://www.mtv.com/news/articles/1659305/chris-brown-nude-photos-leak-online.jhtml

Recently in 2011, a nude phot of Chris Brown was leaked by an ex-girlfriend. It was leaked right before his new album, F.A.M.E.. The photo was obviously recent since he had his blonde hair and he barely dyed his hair blonde this year.

This scandal involved privacy/intrusion. He is another celebrity who takes a nude photo with the hope that it will stay private. He took the picture and sent it to an unknown female. She then put the picture online for the world to see. It clearly is an invasion of privacy. When the photo leaked on world star hip hop, he tweeted, "WTF!!! Here we go!!!" and later deleted it.

It was quetioned whether it was a plan to leak it right before the new album dropped. It could have been a strategy since it would get a lot of media attention and publicity.

This photo scandal invloved libel as well. It is part of defamation. This scandal caused Chris Brown to be questioned in interviews on radio and television. He was followed by paparazzi's everywhere he went.

Internet

My cousin was in middle school when he was highly addicted to playing games on the internet. It became a habit where he had to play everyday and would get very mad if he didn't pass the game successfully. He would play many hours per day. He had many late nights trying to play every single game and had to win them all. The consequences to that was that he started to do poorly on homework assignments or would not even do them at all. His concern really became just achieving his wins online. It affected his social life as well. He would avoid phone calls, hanging out with friends, and even spending time with family. When it came to the end of the year, he was at risk of not graduating and going to high school. That's when his parents stepped in and would not let him go on the computer until all his school work was done. They even took his xbox and all other gaming systems. That did teach him that he can't dedicate his entire life on games. He realized school was important and also having a social life.

I do remember one game website he used back when we were in middle and it was www.addictinggames.com it is something all the students would play at school in the library, computer class, or at home.

Movies

My favorite movie from 2010 was Iron Man 2. Iron Man 2 was one of my favorite because Robert Downey Jr is one of my favorite actors. Action movies are always the best kind of movies to watch in the movie theater. This movie had a very interesting plot and was action filled and amazing effects.

My all time favorite movie has to be Titanic. I remember going to the movie theater twice to see it. When it came out, I bought it and literally watched it every single day. Even now when it comes on TV and I catch it on, I will watch it. My favorite part is when the Titanic hits the iceberg and begins to sink. I just like the suspense feeling ti gives you.

Books

1. The Secret by Rhonda Byrne
The Secret is a book that has had the most influence on me. I loved this book because it teaches you that nothing is impossible. Everything is possible if you believe in it. This book teaches you the secret to always stay positive. My favorite part of the book was the law of attraction. Even 'till this day, I sometimes go back and read it. I find it a great way to live you life. It is easy to apply in your daily life.

2. About A Boy by Nick Hornby
About A Boy was influential because in the book, we were able to follow the stores of Will and Marcus. It was very interesting because Will was an older man and Marcus was a child. Together they both helped each other out. They, in a way, helped each other mature. Although they were not father and son, it is the man figure Marcus needed. There was even a movie about this book that came out with Hugh Grant.

3. The Diary of a Young Girl by Anne Frank

I read this book in high school and it was very influential. First, it made realize how things have changed drastically from that point in time. Makes be grateful for today. This book talks about the struggles she goes through hiding with her family for two years during the Nazi occupation of the Netherlands. This book is pretty detailed since it was really Anne's Diary. It was a good book to read to see the struggle's she went through.

Media Autobiography

My name is Martin, and I am a Communications major. Public Relations is what I want to primarily do in my professional life. Working in the media has always been a dream of mine. That is why I want to get involved in Entertainment PR in Los Angeles. Experiencing Hollywood and going to events with celebrities around and hot spots in West Hollywood has made me realize that working in the entertainment side of LA is the perfect job for me. This is my last quarter at De Anza. I already got accepted to San Francisco State and San Jose State. I am still waiting to hear back from CSU Long Beach and CSU Northridge. Going to either school in Southern California is my top choice.

Books: As a little kid, I was really into reading books. I did have a habit of letting books pile up and was really into reading all types of books. As I grew older, I have lost interest. It takes a great book nowadays to catch my attention to read it. My likes about books are that some are interesting and keep me intrigued to keep on reading. Then, I love when a movie about the book comes out. I do not dislike books but as I have said, it takes a good book to make me want to read it.

Newspapers: I have never been a newspaper reader. I stay updated with news by the local news on Television and websites like CNN. Staying up to date with local, national, or world news is very important.

Magazines: I enjoy reading magazines. What I like about magazines is that there is interesting topics and whenever I am bored, I can read any type of magazine no matter what it is. Men’s Health and Tabloid magazines are usually the kind of magazines I read. Magazines are great because they keep you up to date with fashion trends. There is nothing to dislike about them.

Movies: Ever since I was young, I enjoyed movies. Growing up watching movies I grew up with was fun. During high school, I had a habit of going to the movies every Friday to watch the latest movie that comes out. Now, I do not really go and watch the latest movie every weekend. I tend to usually wait until it comes out and Blu-Ray or watch it on Pay-Per-View.

Recordings: Music is my stimulus. I need it while working out, getting ready to go out, driving, and everything else anyone can think of. Music can easily change your mood. I am not meticulous when it comes to music. I enjoy everything from House music, Hip Hop, Pop, R&B, Alternative etc.  The only thing I can think of that I would dislike about music is when it reminds you of something that you do not care to remember. But that is the fun thing about music, it can create memories.

Radio: I do not listen to the radio that often now since usually I listen to music on my iPod and get all my music from iTunes. I listen to the radio whenever I forget to bring my iPod with me. The good thing about radio is that they bring your favorite artists to concert and let you know about everything going on in the area. I thing I dislike about radio is that it seems like eveyr song is stuck on repeat.

Television: Television is also important to me because whenever I have free time I like to watch TV and catch up on all my favorite shows. It is awesome that there is DVR now and that you can record multiple shows while watching something else.

Internet: The internet is very important to me also. I assume it is important for everyone too. It lets me browse websites and you can find anything that is out there. My favorite thing about the internet is social networks. It lets me stay in touch with friends and even meet new friends. It is also a great way to network. The only thing to dislike about it is that it is every distracting when it comes to working on your homework.
